Omniture analytics engine SiteCatalyst comes to Android

Rating: Real-time access to analytics reports now available on Android

Analytics company Omniture has announced thatĀ its software-as-a-service analytics product, SiteCatalyst, will soon be accessible on Android. Omniture SiteCatalyst for Google will be available for download through Android Market.

This product has been available on web phones since July, and on iPhone since October. Since SiteCatalyst is a non -platform specific business product, migration to the Android platform was never going to take long.

What can users expect?

SiteCatalyst is the analytics branch of the Omnitures family of products. The Android portal is only actually useful for already existing subscribers to SiteCatalyst, and is available for free from the Android Market. The app allows subscribers to view all of the analytics and reports they would be able to view on the internet site, in the format they are used to.

From the release:

“In a rapidly changing business environment, marketers need to be able to make decisions quickly to remain competitive,” said Aseem Chandra, senior vice president of product marketing at Omniture. “With this release, we continue to help our customers mobilize their marketing with on-the-go, real-time, on-demand access to analytics, further enabling our customers to make timely business decisions that can measurably impact marketing effectiveness and return on investment.”

“As a leading digital marketing agency, it’s critical that we constantly measure and understand the dynamics of our clients’ online marketing campaigns,” said Lance Neuhauser, executive vice president, strategy, Resolution Media, an Omnicom Media Group Company. “With mobile access to Web analytics reports, bookmarks and dashboards through Omniture SiteCatalyst for Google Android, we are always in touch and better informed with the marketing data and metrics that are critical to our clients’ success. With Omniture, we can now act more quickly to address opportunities and changing market needs, whether in the office or on the go.”

What we think?

GoMo has encountered Omniture before – but it sits in a bag of strong or yet to mature mobile analytics firms. The T-Mobile G1 has been being touted as more of a business model than the iPhone, so it’s good for Omniture that they’ve gotten out the first analytics app for the device. But this announcement is really more of an update than a press release. While it’s nice that SiteCatalyst is now available on Android, there’s very little more to say than that: SiteCatalyst is now available.
