Rating: it’s all about mobile yoof, man

Yoof
Is user generated mobile content all about mobile yoof? If so, why is facebook huge and why do I know many over 25 year olds that are addicted to facebook?

It is apparent that no one has grasped the concept of mobile user generated content as yet. Orange was touting new service innovation last night at the Pow Wow; but the focus again remained on mobile music or rough or buff type of services.

Is this user generated, 2.0, community?

Community is about IM and the demo – be it bits of a demo that I saw in the developer centre only offered MSN IM. Community is also about networking.

Pikeo_beta
The services at Orange as yet, only touch the service of what is to come. Mobile operators seem to be putting make-up on old ideas. For example Pikeo is a re-worked Mobile Photo Album and new content seems to be evolving around existing RATE IT services and Orange Sound Tribes is a funky name for a music service.

It’s clearly still very early days.
