Orange World changes and personalisation
Rating: its coming soon!

Over the past few weeks I have been testing OrangeWorld and Orange services with the Orange Signature Samsung i600 devices (provided to me by Orange).
Every couple of days the site has been changing and obviously huge beta or changes are coming into play.
Unfortunately I didn’t make screen shots but I did notice three significant changes on three different days. I am not sure if this is the strategy of daily personalisation where new services are pushed to users or (more likely) tests are being pushed to consumers at different times to assist the upgrade to the all new Orange World.
So day one – I see a HUGE banner saying Google and off-portal sites? I was completely confused as I know that Orange is proud of its white label mobile search. Then I clicked the site and you wouldn’t believe it. It seems as though Orange has manipulated the Google brand and name without actually giving it any of the credit. You can click onto the banner which takes you to a page of very hot mobile links. Unlike competitors that have one of two agreements with one or two brands the list of off-portal sites seen was impressive. It beat the pants of the new Vodafone live! and 3’s portal. But then when I refreshed it was gone. I did seven or eight more searches but I haven’t seen it or that page again.
Then yesterday I clicked through and this time I got a Buff or Rough banner and underneath a link saying: create your own webpage coming soon. When you click on that you see a list of new data charges and pricing and information of what is coming. So I ran to get my pen and paper to document it from the start and guess what – its gone.
Come back, where are you? Anyway – I am going to be on Orange every day and the minute the new site does launch – you will know about it.
