Out of the media spotlight? Lauch your own iPhone app

Rating: Seems to be working for Charlie Sheen

What do you do if you’re a famous Hollywood actor but your star seems to be on the wane? Ignore the Big Screen and go for the fourth screen by launching your own iPhone app. That’s exactly what Hollywood Bad Boy, Charlie Sheen Charlie Sheen from MaSheenhas done by launching ‘The MaSheen’ app for the iPhone. It will set you back a £1.79 and is described by one iTunes App Store reviewer as “the only officially Sheenius app”. He’s obviously still got his fans, although the app appears to need a bit of tweaking as one of the videos crashes according to another reviewer. The app seens to have been developed for Charlie Sheen by Aubrey Anderson of Post Empire. GoMo News has been unable to trace this company but we did find one Aubrey Anderson of Particle fame.

He has developed the Robo.to Android application which can be downloaded here.

Robo.to lets users share a four-second video status update from their mobile phones. But there’s no sound or captions. The app also syncs users’ Robo.to profiles with their mobile address book contacts.

Anyway, back to Sheen. He’s been trying to boost his media image after falling out with CBS which cancelled his ‘Two and a Half Men’ comedy soap.

Plus – in a country where you still can’t go topless on the beach – it doesn’t help to admit sleeping simultaneously with your family’s nanny and former model, Natalie Kenly, plus Rachel Oberlin – a porn star under the name of Bree Olson.

So what do you put in your iPhone ‘personality’ app? Apparently there are 17 videos plus a fortune teller.

GoMo News was also amused by one of the screenshots which is entitled ‘Fastballs of Truth’ and could be The Thoughts of Chairman Sheen. The other screenshot entitled Mind Torpedoes looks like a game.

There are also hints that Sheen’s app developers can add extra content to this application for those who have purchased it at a later date. Free updates, then?

Sheen probably has set a new trend. So who’s next for a personality iapp? Jamie Lee Curtis?
