PaymentOne to announce carrier billing for HTML5

Rating: Good news for HTML5 games and apps developers

Next Tuesday [February 21st 2012], PaymentOne will make an announcement for developers of HTML5 games and apps that claims to give them a truly simple way to monetise their offerings on any platform via direct carrier billing.PaymentOne will be offering a simple API that will give developers the ability to place in-app web-based purchases on billions of consumers’ phone bills around the world.

HTML5 makes every device a potential commerce opportunity for developers of games and apps, and making payments doesn’t get any easier than this, the company says.

Readers may recall that AT&T announced its HTML5 API at CES (obviously limited to the AT&T network where the PaymentOne API opens the doors to multiple carriers worldwide).

With the rapid growth in HTML5 apps it’s clear that direct carrier billing is a hot topic.
