Rating: Software Mashup!

Sony Ericsson have announced their own version of the mashup..this one doesn’t contain music but a mashup of the development platform Java ME and the popular content creating tool Flash Lite. The new platform, named Project Capuchin should make it possible for developers to have improved graphics embedded within a Java ME Application.

According to the folks at Pocket Picks Sony Ericsson “hoping to make the technology available later this year which means it will probably be 2009 before we are actually able to buy applications that benefit from Project Capuchin”

We Say: Having been involved in a number of a Java ME projects, one of the areas which has always been tricky is the graphics, not just because of the limitations of graphics in the Java ME platform. Anything that can make the end user experience a more satisfying one is welcomed by me but remember some of the best games ever designed were the ones without flashy graphics.
