AT&T vs T-Mobile in the US - buying a prepaid SIM
So here I am in San Francisco and I went to the AT&T shop first today and Peter the sales guy was great. He tested my phone, checked it could work went through all my options - added a USD 19.99 MediaNet package and fought with the awful voice recognition voice recognition software with me.
CTIA Live! from GoMo News
OK - so on the right hand side of this post you will see a video box - I will be using that to broadcast live with FlixWagon during CTIA probably starting from today. I will be using my Nokia N95 for the video. Please keep taking a look for updates and when there is something huge - I will post it into the body for a blog. But because I am on my feet most of the day that might be tough. I do intend to live blog as well to this blog and also mobileseonews.com.
For voice I have a Motorola V3 (Verizon) and a SonyEricsson Walkman W810i (which I have decided is the best smallest most practical device for a woman ever - I can hide it in my make up case or bag…)
We have partnered with Eric Chan from MobileSlate and he will be doing live interviews and some blogging from his iPhone - we have a Eric Live at CTIA Channel above. He is using the iphone with kyte. Eric is interviewing lots of companies for GoMo News including Motorola and Openwave, Nuance, Celltrust, Amobee, MX Telecom - so many that I just can’t meet but are still all very interesting for me!
There will also be a Rob channel - for Medio- but we are still not sure if he will be editing video or using live media - as his phones are not compatible with the majority of live blogging software. So we might have to buy one for him tomorrow. But it will be a Rob live channel or a a Flixee Widget like mine on the right hand side.

All jetlagged out in SFO
So, I have arrived in San Francisco and in the past 20 hours I managed to fly for 14 hours; hammer my credit card in 1 hour and have drinks with “le girls” in San Francisco’s sky bar. Now it’s time for bed and I know of one announcement I will post when I surface. It was to post at 1pm German time but that is 4am SFO time - so this time the scoop just will be too hard – unless I get jetlag.
Apart from that I am going to try to get to Mobile Web Megatrends – but I have meetings in the city from 12 o clock – so it will depend where Berkeley is (exactly).
Am getting ready for a really exciting CTIA.
CTIA 2008 San Francisco & It’s great to be back.
Well, I have to say it’s great back working with Bena here at GoMo. As Bena has already said I will be joining her at CTIA and frankly I can’t wait!. I will be working closely with the folks at Medio - The Mobile Search and Advertising specialists especially the Chairman and CEO Brian Lent. We will be bringing you coverage of CTIA from Brian’s perspective, including behind the scenes video blogging. I’m really looking forward to meeting Brian and I’m sure it will be make avid reading. I will also be trying to cover all things Nokia and I am really looking forward to meeting old friends (Hi Ray!) and making new ones from the Finish giant.
Finally, I hope to meet a lot of you there.
