A couple of days ago 3, AT&T, T-Mobile, Telenor, Telefonica, Telecom Italia and Vodafone launched a new initiative. This initiative was driven by the OMTP (all the operators are part of the OMTP) and is called BONDI.
GSMA and European Payments Council working to bring e-cash by next year
A new partnership has been formed between the GSM association (GSMA) and the European Payments Council with the aim to “accelerate the deployment of services that enable consumers to pay for goods and services in shops, restaurants and other locations using their mobile phones.”

Telenor and Nokia cooperate on bringing mobile services to consumers
Telenor and Nokia today announced cooperation on mobile services to accelerate the adoption of new Internet services on the Ovi services platform provided by Nokia. The agreement will enable Telenor customers to experience one of the best Internet services on their devices in the simplest way. The Telenor and Ovi services will be offered to Telenor customers in Norway, Sweden and Denmark as well as in Hungary.
