GoMo News hates hype. Also it hates new start-ups that offer the world and can’t deliver. After reading several blog posts on Velvet Puffin (new mobile community) we gave it ago.

1. Sign-up was easy online
2. Setting up SMS didn’t work
3. Typing in the URL didn’t work either
4. Still waiting for a second WAP push SMS
.

Then we find out that Velvet Puffin is based in Singapore. It’s a USD 10 million start-up with aspirations of being the next mySpace. Our advice: If you are based in Singapore – say so on the box. Don’t offer global social networking if it is not possible…. the UK and Germany SMS Push didn’t work.
