All jetlagged out in SFO

by: Bena Roberts September 8, 2008

So, I have arrived in San Francisco and in the past 20 hours I managed to fly for 14 hours; hammer my credit card in 1 hour and have drinks with “le girls” in San Francisco’s sky bar. Now it’s time for bed and I know of one announcement I will post when I surface.  It was to post at 1pm German time but that is 4am SFO time  - so this time the scoop just will be too hard – unless I get jetlag.

Apart from that I am going to try to get to Mobile Web Megatrends – but I have meetings in the city from 12 o clock – so it will depend where Berkeley is (exactly).

Am getting ready for a really exciting CTIA.

CTIA 2008 San Francisco & It’s great to be back.

by: Rob Knight September 8, 2008

Well, I have to say it’s great back working with Bena here at GoMo. As Bena has already said I will be joining her at CTIA and frankly I can’t wait!. I will be working closely with the folks at Medio - The Mobile Search and Advertising specialists especially the Chairman and CEO Brian Lent. We will be bringing you coverage of CTIA from Brian’s perspective, including behind the scenes video blogging. I’m really looking forward to meeting Brian and I’m sure it will be make avid reading. I will also be trying to cover all things Nokia and I am really looking forward to meeting old friends (Hi Ray!) and making new ones from the Finish giant.

Finally, I hope to meet a lot of you there.

Welcome back Medio Systems, Rob Knight and Eric Chan

by: Bena Roberts September 5, 2008

I am delighted to annouced our SECOND Gold Sponsor here at GoMo News - Medio SystemsMedio has a exciting social media week planned out with GoMo News at CTIA (but I will let Rob introduce it next week). I will publish a new banner from Medio shortly.

Also I am even happier that my favourite ex-University buddy and friend Rob Knight will be back blogging at CTIA in San Francisco with me next week. As you know he is the guru sound and video man and we can expect something great from him!

Please also welcome back Eric Chan from MobileSlate.  He is also Mr. CTIA Party List and a mobile search guru.  Because I have the problem now being involved in a mobile search optimisation company (visibility mobile) Eric will be covering a lot of the mobile search annoucements and getting hot interviews on the show floor.

On the note of mobile search, I just want to say that I am over joyed that Medio is sponsoring us and I raise a glass for some great coverage! But I also thank JumpTap for sponsoring GoMo for the past year and MCN as well.  I have a great relationship with Michael Libes from Medio; Mike Kent from JumpTap (who is taking me out for dinner soon and a shout out to the fabulous Ariela who is no longer at JT) and Phyllis Reuther at MCN (who I am also meeting at CTIA). I am really hoping to continue to have a great relationship with all of these fantastic white label mobile search companies that I have followed over the past 4 years.

I hope that the fact that I am now a major shareholder in a mobile search company doesn’t impact on my mobile search relationships and I have never been a fan of “disclaimers” - but lets see how it goes.

So anyway: GoMo News wouldn’t survive without sponsors.

A big thank you to Gold Sponsors: NeoMedia and Medio Systems

Sponsors: WebIt Pr; RingRing Media, Net Biscuits, Smaato; anyone else that has sponsored GoMo in the past and Wapple for the free mobile sites.

Definitely one more and maybe two more sponsors to be annouced soon.
