qeep brings 1 million users to Smaato mobile advertising platform

qeep and Smaato have announced a new mobile advertising partnership. qeep, which has just hit the 1 million users landmark on it’s mobile social network, has integrated Smaatos SOMA ad platform. SOMA will use anonymous profile info like age, region and gender to serve targeted ads to qeep users.

From the release:

“With more than 200 countries in our qeep community we work closely with Smaato to help monetize our global advertising inventory. SOMA saves us time to monitor and optimizes our ad sales on the mobile internet and within our application,” stated Christian Schulte, Founder and CEO of qeep.

“We congratulate the makers of qeep for having reached this important milestone. Qeep makes it possible to show ads to several demographics and target groups, so that users see ads that are relevant to them, while the identities of the users and their profile information stay anonymous,” adds Harald Neidhardt, Co-Founder of Smaato Inc.

What we think?

MoSo’s and mobile advertisers seem to be moving forward hand-in-hand. qeep claims to grow by 5,000 users every day, and while that kind of growth is sustainable, MoSo’s and advertisers will have a very healthy relationship. The social networks shouldn’t fool themselves though - advertisers are the big partners in deals like this. I think it’s important for future growth that MoSo’s look at alternate revenue streams, so that they’re not completely dependent on ad-funding.
