QR code T-shirt company uses Mobisitegalore
Rating: I fail get to grips with this WAP site generator
Whilst researching a little known mobile dating service called Getwickd (now renamed W-41.com), I ran into a mobile site generator which I’d never discovered before – Mobisitegalore. This service looked very professional but that didn’t stop me from being unable to get to grips with it.In a nutshell, Getwickd/W-41 is an outfit that sells T-shirts which sport customised QR codes. With the idea being that you point the QR code the company prints on your T-shirt at your own personal mobile web profile.
Recognising that the general public mostly don’t have their own mobile-friendly web sites, Getwickd thus teamed up with WAP site generator, Mobilesitegalore. So, I decided to test Mobisitegalore’s free WAP sites rather than point my QR code at anything I already have in existence. Which in theory would include a Facebook, MySpace or a YouTube account.
Being a game person, I duly tried to create my own personal WAP space that would hook potential singles using my personal profile. I did rather well until I got to the stage where I had created three separate content pages on my WAP site. Simplicity itself. Sadly, I wasn’t able to work out how to save the text I’d carefully crafted for these three mobile web pages.
Teething problems, I suppose. What I did admire was the fact that when you finish the mobile web creation process with Mobilesitegalore, the system runs the resulting pages through a test facility offered by the dotMobi consortium - known as ready.mobi
During the whole test site setup, no WAP site page errors were detected. Quite frankly that now seems rather irrelevant now. S with Mobisitegalore I’ve just encountered a free site generation service where I need to research just why it didn’t work for me.
