Story 1: Movile advertising will remain an integral part of Fords Ka campaign
The marketing campaign for Fords new Ka, will see it’s mobile advertising integrated with TV and online ads. The “Find It” campaign features a ‘Where’s Wally?’ style idea which encourages people to hunt down hidden images. Ford is running its mobile marketing campaign through Nokia Interactive Advertising, which users can text to register for a test drive and receive a link to the mobile site, where they can find downloads and dealer information.
In the run up to the launch Ford Ka ran an augmented reality mobile marketing campaign to generate a buzz amongst its target audience and launch activity will continue with its use of mobile with activities supporting the launches of Ka across Europe.

Story 2: PocketSurfer2 claimed to be the world’s fastest handheld Internet device
Datawind has unveiled it’s latest device, called PocketSurfer2, for the Indian market. It claims the device is the world’s fastest handheld Internet device.

DataWind claims it can fully replicate the online web, with faster bandwidth, a larger screen, and better processing power than other mobile devices. Datawind says that PocketSurfer2 offers page-load times of less than 7 seconds and is faster than most handheld devices running on 3G networks.

Story 3: Asia-Pac 3G subscribers expected to exceed 560 million by 2013
3G users in Asia-Pacific increased from 121 million in 2007 to an estimated 158.4 million in 2008. By 2013, the region’s 3G subscriber base is expected to top 564 million, accounting for about 18.2 percent of all mobile users.
Frost & Sullivan senior industry analyst Marc Einstein notes, “Dongles and datacards are increasingly a preferred connectivity device of choice for Asia-Pac’s broadband subscribers given the slim form-factor of the devices, faster 3G speeds and competitive service plans available.”
Thanks to this huge uptake, mobile operators in the region are desperate to make sure that their mobile broadband services offer the best revenue possible as 3G gives way to newer, faster services.
