QuickPlay Mobile Video plus Amobee Mobile Advertising
QuickPlay is just getting better and better. Not only do the invite me to a great dinner at CTIA –but I find out that the company is responsible for the Vodafone Italy 3G Free Video service. I use this service!!
We live really close to Italy and my sister is married to an Italian man with many a mobile phone. I have about three Italian SIM’s and often test services while sat on the beach or drinking “mucho vino” in Lake Garda.
So, not only do I know Vodafone Italy 3G Free Video, I have tested it. The thing that everyone must understand about Italy and the Italians is the free trials are not required – they are a necessity. The only way to get traction is to deliver content free or with a special SIM with inclusive content for EUR 5 extra or something similar.
This was the strategy for 3G adoption and now it’s the video strategy. The addition of video advertising by Amobee is just necessary gravy to bring in a revenue stream.

What we think?
There is talk about metrics relating to what advert is placed when in this press release. I am going to have to sweet talk Amobee or QuickPlay for some examples of how relevancy is calculated from the metrics and where the metric information is stored and who owns it.
