RegiSoft and YooMedia partner to offer marketing solutions
Rating: the road to hell is paved with good intentions
By Annie Turner
RegiSoft and YooMedia have signed a Letter of Intent to form a strategic partnership to offer mobile marketing solutions in the UK.
Under the terms of the agreement, YooMedia will deploy RegiSoft’s World Trade Server in the UK to improve its offering to brands, retailers, advertisers and advertising agencies, and its solutions such as personalised mobile marketing campaigns, interactive service, mobile tickets, mobile coupons, personalized content distribution and more.
The World Trade Server, “enables sophisticated personalisation and data mining features”. These tools will enable YooMedia to tailor campaigns for clients (don’t get this bit. What is it saying, that it didn’t tailor campaigns for clients – which include Nestle, Vodafone, Hardy’s, L’Oreal and Budweiser – before?).
Apparently the “proven stability of the World Trade Server will grant YooMedia with the capacity to handle high message volumes and peaks, which is necessary to manage interactive services for TV campaigns and large scale events”.
Hmmm. Perhaps a more sensitive name would help? What do you think of when you hear the words “World Trade”? Server isn’t very different to Center either. And in combination with RegiSoft, which sounds like a slip of the tongue for regicide (the killer or killing of a king).
Bizarre in a press release about advertising, which is all about the careful manipulation of people’s perceptions and emotions, in large part through association.
