Roamware launches Mobileum for Social Roaming

by: Bena Roberts Monday, February 11th, 2008

Roamware has launched a solution for mobile roaming called Mobileum. I sounds quite nifty as its a social content portal for travellers that users profile, location and community to deliver relevant information to mobile users.
From the press release
“Mobileum has many social features that make the service viral,” said Sudhir Kadam, VP New Business Initiatives at Roamware. “MatchMe matches people with others with similar interests; MeetMe enables interactions; and, the peer-to-peer content exchange allows users to exchange photos and ringtones with others. In addition, the service includes free Yellow Pages which will generate word-of-mouth publicity. The service is invoked with a ##123.
What we think?
I am meeting Roamware on Thursday and can’t wait to test this. Location aware social networking platforms are emerging but more use and consumer uptake will drive this. Without that, it might still take a very very long time.
Rating: location social roaming, baby
