Rumour Alert: AOL to buy Third Screen Media

by: Bena Roberts Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

Rating: makes sense

GoMo news tries not to report on rumours, but this is juicy. Third Screen Media is a mobile advertising company. It’s worth (according to the Wall Street Journal which is where the rumour originated) about USD 80 million. AOL wants it.

Is this important? Didn’t MSN also want Third Screen? What’s the appeal? Basically, as GoMo News’ parent company BKI Media has spelt out time and time again mobile search is mobile advertising, so the interest in mobile advertising companies is hardly a surprise.

In the next issue of The Mobile Advertising and Marketing Analyst (MAMA) coming out on March 19th 2007; there is gripping competitive intelligence on adMob vs Third Screen Media. Go to www.bkimedia.com for more details.
