Senior Nokia exec takes the reins at mobile advertising company MyScreen

MyScreen Mobile today announced that Maurizio Angelone has joined as CEO and a member of its Board of Directors. Angelone has 15 years exec experience with Nokia, and most recently headed global accounts for Telefonica. MyScreen Mobile is an incentive-based mobile advertiser that displays full-screen ads at the end of phone calls.

Mr. Angelone has joined MyScreem as it launches it’s ad-service globally, and will be responsible for global operations and strategies.

From the release:

“We are very excited to welcome Maurizio Angelone as MyScreen’s Chief Executive Officer. Maurizio is an outstanding leader who combines deep knowledge and insight into the mobile industry, with extensive experience in leading a major wireless operation. We feel his exceptional track record and executive level industry relationships will ensure the continued growth and success of MyScreen,” noted MyScreen Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice-President, Raghu Kilambi.

“I am very excited to join the MyScreen team as we move forward in offering consumers the most relevant and richest possible mobile advertising experience in the least intrusive manner, while creating value for consumers, advertisers and brands,” said Maurizio Angelone, incoming Chief Executive Officer.

What we think?

We’ve touched base with MyScreen a few times, and we’ve always felt that it offers a good service. Incentive-based services on mobile is a model I feel can really work – it’s certainly done well for Blyk. The idea behind MyScreen is that at the end of your call you get a relevant piece of advertising. It doesn’t bother you during your usage period. With experience hands on the wheel for it’s global launch, I believe we’ll see some good news from MyScreen in the next few months.
