ShowStoppers at Mobile World Congress
Sunday night at Showstoppers was great. I met with Zeemote, Smaato (interview later), NeoMedia (booth was packed out most all night long, so I didn’t get chance for a one to one), Mobile Complete, Skype and PixSense.
PixSense are a white label mobile social networking, imaging and geo-tagging company and I had a great overview. The have some big trial at the moment in Germany and are live in Telenor in Pakistan. They are part owned by Qualcomm Ventures. I mentioned that I met a small Indian guy at Qualcomm Ventures last year at CTIA. Faraz Hoodbhoy, EVP and CTO and laughed out loud and said, “Bena! You could be describing on of thousands!”
The Zeemote game console has transformed for the better. It is looking very very hot and impressive. I am a fan of woman entrepreneur and founder Beth Marcus, who is always very interesting to talk to.
Emoze gave me a demo of the push email solution which I have to say is free and simple to use. I am not the guru on mobile email, but will be testing this service; because it looked like it could save me from my daily email nightmare.
Mobile Complete try before you buy device service looks great. But beyond that my head is spinning after getting horrendously lost in my car with Yorkville Advisors Managing Director Paul Strzelecki – despite having a brand new Garmin Nuvi 250 assisting us. I am going to have to write that one up a bit later on.
Rating: really good event
