Rating: what not to do

By Annie Turner

NBC Universal has hired messaging service SinglePoint to undertake one of the biggest mobile marketing initiatives ever in media,
according to TechCrunch. SinglePoint will run a number of interactive
campaigns for the broadcaster across its NBC Universal including NBC,
CNBC, MSNBC, Bravo, Telemundo, USA, NBC Sports, NBC News, iVillage and
venue-related activities for Universal theme parks.

Let’s hope they get it right and avoid the scandals currently rocking the BBC and Channel 4 in the UK – even the BBC’s hallowed children’s TV flagship Blue Peter has not escaped censure. By looking across the Pond, SinglePoint can learn lots about what not to do. If
SinglePoint get it right, there is terrific potential to open up new
revenue streams for NBC Universal. If not, they’ll never work in this
town again.
