Super Mobile Search Engine?

An article in the Telegraph has set off rockets in the mobile search space with everyone commenting on the potential of a mobile operators SUPER SEARCH ENGINE to blast the sock of Google and Yahoo!.

It ain’t gonna happen. Rome wasn’t built in a day and nor was Google.

This is probably a super Gallery or PlazZza style service. PlazZza and Gallery are already huge in France and Belgium and a senior official at Orange France told me in January that “huge” things were happening with Gallery and “operators were knocking on the door to be part of it”.

PlazZza and Gallery are a mobile advertising haven. It’s not pure mobile search but more an inter-connected network of shopping outlets or retailers (including operators own digital content partners) that provide a network of purchasing or hosting opportunities. I wrote about this at length, whilst working at Current Analysis and one article that was published in Mobile Europe is available here.
