T-Mobile’s t-zones gets sexy?
Rating: ohh…er!

So I am currently in Germany touting a lovely SonyEricsson W800i Walkman phone provided to me by SonyEricsson to test. Its flooded with every mobile music application and 3D game service and I am enjoying playing around with it.
So, I put in my T-Mobile SIM and for the first time in about 18 months I am not using the SIM in a Web ‘n’ walk device. I log on to the mobile Internet and I gasp?
What on earth happened?
Gone is the pink magazine style service of old and instead there is a complete new mobile site with a huge mobile search box on the front page. Now, this can only be from a branded white label mobile search provider – unless T-Mobile has used magic to supercharge its t-zones services in-house.
t-zones has had a makeover and by gum is it an improvement.
So I test the services immediately with a search for Prince and The Sisters of Mercy. The results back are instant and are categorized with three results being posted first and a full recommendation system beneath. I can even listen to a preview of the music before I buy immediately and the cost of the songs is only EUR 1.49 – that is CHEAP.
OK – it wasn’t all rosie and a couple of things did annoy – like why only three results or three song choices I would have liked to see at least six or seven – but all in all not bad.
I asked T-Mobile which company was behind the service and I am waiting to hear back but I have a good idea and I will do a full assessment and search break down in the Mobile Search Analyst.
