T-Mobile Mobile Discovery Solutions from Qix
I have liked Qix for a long time. At the same time, I have felt the company has underperformed in Europe so the news that T-mobile is extending its rollout of Qix is good news.
What is T-Mobile doing?
1. It’s extending its range of devices that will have Qix integrated and the Nokia N70 is one of them.
2. The downloadable version is available to a selected number of T-Mobile UK subscribers with Nokia models N95, N73, 6120c and E51. Subscribers can download the software directly from T-Mobile’s Web’n'Walk HomePage or from qix.zicorp.com/tmobile
What else?
Hmm. That seems about it. No wait it also says “mobile advertising solutions” so perhaps adverts are triggered into the on device search? I will have to do some digging on this.
So what is Qix?
When I used Qix it’s like an instant content search engine for mobile. It finds what you want before you actually think or look too hard for it! (See the article T9 vs Qix).
From the press release
Steve Buck, Head of Products for T-Mobile UK said “By providing a download capability Zi has enabled T-Mobile to provide the latest version of Qix software both to new handsets and to a larger volume of existing handsets already in use.”
Milos Djokovic, President and CEO of Zi Corporation said, “T-Mobile is one of the UK ’s leading operators and this extended rollout will introduce more T-Mobile users to Qix. We are delighted to be extending our relationship with T-Mobile and look forward to showing how Qix can deliver the latest services and relevant content suggestions to their subscribers.”
