The Era of Mobile Advertising Consolidation is under way - Amobee acquires RingRing Media
Two of the biggest names in mobile advertising have become a single entity today. Amobee is an operator-focused agency - with investment and campaigns in place from some of the biggest global mobile networks. RingRing Media is a major booking and planning agency for mobile ad campaigns with a huge publishing network called the Mobile Advertising Exchange. Today, Amobee has announced that it has started the process of acquiring RingRing lock, stock and barrel.
The mobile advertising industry responds to the Apple Quattro deal
Yesterday was a hell of a day for mobile news. Google finally confirmed that, yes, the Nexus One is real and we can buy one soon - but Apple did it’s level best to draw attention away from Google by announcing it intended to buy it’s own mobile advertising company (see our report here). This has caused a flurry of comments from all corners, and here at GoMo we were contacted by mobile advertising executives who wanted us to know what they thought about it. Read on to see the industry opinion on this important deal.

Europe is a vital, exciting and high-value market for mobile advertising. Over the past year AdMob has strengthened its presence in the UK; BuzzCity has set up in Paris; Adfonic has launched in the UK. Telefonica rolls out mobile advertising in Spain with Amobee Media Systems
Now, I haven’t heard from Amobee for ages. But following on from an agreement last year, Telefonica Spain is using Amobee for mobile advertising.
From the press release:
“Telefónica is a great example of a mobile operator taking control of advertising revenues on its network and, in the process, ensuring a positive customer experience,” said Zohar Levkovitz, [...]
Vodafone and MADS? What about Amobee?
Maybe I am missing something here - so view this as a “talking out loud” article more than anything else. Basically remember that Vodafone bought a stake in Amobee and so did Telefonica.
Then last year I heard rumours Telefonica was experiementing with different companies and also that Vodafone had chosen MADS for some countries mobile [...]

How can you make money out of mobile widgets? Answer: Find a way of integrating adverts into them. That’s exactly what Amobee and Qualcomm have done together.

Interview: Patrick Parodi, CMO, Amobee
I started off the morning on Day 0 of CTIA with an interview with Patrick Parodi, CMO of Amobee. It was a great conversation about hopes, dreams and making money.
The one sentence about the company: Amobee is the first company to deliver a unified, telco-grade system for funding mobile content and communications through advertising [...]

Yikes. I need to apologise to Amobee. I wrote in the past its business model would die and Orange would never work with it again because of the Vodafone/ Telefonica investement.
Today I eat humble pie.

with Amobee Media Systems, a provider of [...]
Amobee raises equity capital from Motorola and Cisco - what type of strategy is this?
Yikes – is it me or is Amobee like the tart of the mobile advertising space? I don’t want to sound rude so maybe I should make that pimp or something. But, first Vodafone (Richard Saggers comments here) and then Telefonica and now Motorola and Cisco.
What on earth. Is this a normal strategy to get [...]
