Are these guys living in a time warp?
Something of an ambitious claim here – StrikeAd claims to be, “the world’s first international mobile Demand Side Platform (DSP).” Not sure about that one. Anyway, its next claim is even more bizarre. The company has announced the launch of its a ‘business’ division -StrikeAd Engage. This division is dedicated solely to providing mobile brand advertising and rich media opportunities to brands and agencies. Hmm. Did it have a ‘consumer’ division before, then? Well, apparently, the business division is called StrikeAd Engage and it will operate separately from StrikeAd Fusion, the company’s mobile DSP. Continue reading

Rating: 45 per cent of such ads now feature video, too
An interesting new development in the rich media mobile ads sector has been discovered by Celtra in its quarterly Mobile Rich Media Monitor report. Apparently, location-based features have now overtaken branding and presentation as the most engaging ad feature. Location now boasts an 18.8 per cent engagement rate. By comparison, the average ad engagement rate was 13.7 per cent in Q3, nearly a one per cent increase over Q2. Adding gaming features (or gamification) can in second place after location with a 13.9 per cent engagement rate Perhaps the most interesting statistic was that was that nearly half (45 per cent) of all the mobile advertising campaigns analysed by Celltra featured video. December 13th 2012. Engagement rates for location-based features in rich media mobile ads nearly doubled in Q3 2012 (185 per cent growth) according to new findings from Celtra‘s quarterly Mobile Rich Media Monitor report. Overall, engagement rates for rich media mobile advertisements continue to show steady, quarter-over-quarter growth. It’s become apparent that US based, rich media advertising specialist, Celtra, has decided to move into Europe in a big way. To this end, the company has decided to enlist the help of (European) start-up specialist, Jonathan Milne, as gm of Celtra Europe. Milne has worked his magic with Ooyala and Maven Networks. The company has also announced a pan-European partnership with Buongiorno – the multi-national mobile content creator.
