UK MVNO is the 1st to offer 08 numbers for SIM only

The UK’s premier MVNO [Mobile Virtual Network Operator], Virgin Media, has become the first operator to offer inclusive calls to 08 numbers on a 30 day, SIM Only mobile contract. This is a significant move forward because non-geographic numbers such as 08 are expensive for the many Brits who only possess a mobile rather than fixed line phone. Ernest Doku, the mobile expert with uSwitch.com, observes, “This new VIP Plus deal shows that Virgin Media turning its attention to those costly non-geographic numbers and has managed to make the best even better.” Continue reading

Research from Surikate/GfK, has just revealed that 11 per cent of iPhone users have confessed to browsing for apps whilst on the loo. This finding doesn’t shock GoMobile News since we have already revealed that smartphone users watch videos in the bathroom, too. Phones 4U in big UK push for Windows Phone 8

Rating: Nokia reliant on this one retailer for its UK sales

It is interesting to see that UK High Street retailer, Phones 4u, will be running a series of Windows Phone 8 launch events in conjunction with Microsoft, Nokia and HTC. No mention of Samsung, the world’s leading handset supplier, lending its support to this event, though. Despite the fact that Phones 4U is also EE’s distribution partner for 4GEE, the retailer seems to be keeping quiet about the fact that only the Nokia WP8  handsets can be connected to EE’s 4GEE LTE network.
