In praise of Iain McCready, CEO NeoMedia, and the success of his mobile barcode licensing agreements

I just had the most positive talk with Iain McCready, CEO of NeoMedia. I congratulated him on today’s huge news that the patent lawsuit with competitor Scanbuy has finally come to an end. Scanbuy and NeoMedia have reached an agreement and Scanbuy will license NeoMedia’s IP.

Mobile Tag licenses NeoMedia’s mobile barcode patents

French mobile barcode player Mobile Tag (with CEO Chip Hoffmann who was the ex-CEO of NeoMedia) will be the first company to license NeoMedia’s mobile indirect code patents.
This is the first licensing agreement from NeoMedia and a milestone for the company that has been hindered by law suits and an all over patent war.
