App Store Tyranny Part III – Apple vs Opera
Rating: Do we detect Norwegian sarcasm here?
As part of our continuing series of reports on how developers are the victims of arbitrary actions by app store owners, we thought we just mention the recent spat between mobile web browser specialist, Opera, and Apple. Opera claims its Mini web browser became the first non-native browser made available in Apple’s iTunes App Store. However, the Cupertino based company decided that only those over 17 should really be able to download it. The reason isn’t very clear but the App Store cites “Frequent/Intense/Mature/Suggestive Themes.” Crickey, the Norwegian company must have found some way to build sex into a browser. Continue reading
