Rating: Don’t try this at home, folks

Given that our Android handset, the Defy, is described by Motorola as ‘lifeproof,’ we’d always wondered exactly what this meant. The only real way to find out would be to hit it with a mallet. Unfortunately we value the mobile phone too much to try it. But the Sunday Times didn’t. This publication tested five ‘ruggedised’ mobile phones to see exactly what kind of harsh treatment they could survive. Sadly, the Defy didn’t survive its impact test.
