Why it so important in today’s hyper-connected world
by Arnold Rijpma, vp for business development with Acision
This Summer , over 400,000 people descended upon London to witness sporting history being made before their very eyes. Or they browse the internet to get the latest news and follow results. Although Facebook and Twitter are great ways of sharing instant snaps and statements publicly, SMS and MMS are widely used (and in demand) to share private thoughts and pictures between family and friends around the world. Rating: Fake IMEIs no longer problem for customer call centres
Mobile device configuration specialist Mobilethink believes it has found a way for mobile operators to recover revenues from handsets with ‘invalid’ IMEI numbers. The company claims thatin 2011 handsets sold by ’no-name’ manufacturers in China and India presently account for more sales than Samsung, Apple and LG combined. The problem is that these ultra-low cost GSM devices aren’t sold with a unique identification number (IMEI) – with manufacturers frequently re-using ‘old’ IMEI numbers. Rating: SnapTags will feature heavily at SuperBowl
As a major endorsement of its SnapTag technology, SypderLynk‘s special tags have been incorporated into a new mobile campaign for Coors Light. Coors is, of course, the official beer sponsor of the NFL and Super Bowl XLV. Those of you who live outside the USA need to be reminded that the SuperBowl is a media frenzy and thus SnapTag’s exposure will be massive. They’ll be used as part of a ‘Snap, Send and Score’ competition where American football fans can win hundreds of prize.
