Using its cross-platform launch of the TV show “Flashforward” as a starting point, Jeff explains how Microsoft views and uses mobile as a part of greater marketing campaigns. In particular, Microsoft is paying attention to the convergence of mobile, internet and digital TV. It’s a pretty nifty visual presentation as well!

But today we talked about his current pet institution: Mobile Giving. This is a non-profit charity organisation that currently helps over 350 charities collect donations via mobile. We also spoke about how the mobile channel can be used for marketing and educating of donors, and the possible commercial applications of the service

At conferences you usually get a few network representatives attending, but rarely more than one or two on stage at any one time. But this was a panel entirely constructed from networks! Verizon, Cricket, Sprint and AT&T took the stage and told us what they think about the current play of mobile advertising, and what they’re planning for the future.

At the Mobile Marketing Forum in Los Angeles today, the days event were wrapped up by Bryon Morrisson, President of Ipsh. His keynote address was called The Power of Little Things - and not even the MC knew what it was about before it started. It turned out to be about the potential power of little, human gestures when applied to mobile marketing.

attAt the Mobile Marketing Forum in Los Angeles today, AT&T Interactive CMO Matt Crowley spoke about mobile local search advertising. As AT&T pushes further into mobile services and advertising, it has come to believe that the major source of revenue for mobile advertising in the years to come will be from local search. Not only this, but Crowley impressed the powerful role that operators can play in delivering targeted advertising to huge numbers of people.

Toyota uses mobile barcodes to reach American football fans

It unleashed two attacks, one against iPhone selling AT&T and one against the iPhone itself. But AT&T has come back with a claim that the Verizon ad is massive misrepresentation - or “creative truth telling”, as I like to call it.
