Before I headed over to CTIA I had a great chat with the super guys over at LightReading.com. They are doing the show daily and I asked them if I could link-in to super news from the show daily as I was too busy moderating conferences and panels to work at the show. Last week, O2 UK announced that it had reached six million customers in just six months after passing the two million mark.
The increase in customers if for the brands mobile marketing location based mobile service.
It is called O2 More. It is a location based SMS push service. So – according to O2 permission based marketing at its best. Users sign in and highlight what coupons or special offers they are interested in. Then relevant adverts are pushed at or near the point of sale.
Valiant but dismal efforts have been made by police to stop the riots in London and across the UK over the past three days. I watch and read the news with disgust. Especially, when I see my local town, Ealing Broadway struck by flames.
