The ACMA is the broadcasting and telecoms regulator for Australia - and it has found that high-tech mobile devices have driven a massive surge of mobile data usage in the country.

Mobile operator Telefonica today announced the launch of a Huawei mobile internet services platform across its entire Latin American market. The Service Delivery Platform (SDP) from Huawei is a massive, converged platform. It allows services for mobile devices to be rolled out across 13 different network architectures in the region.
Aepona offers mobile operators complete Network as a Service solution
Belfast-based Aepona today announced it has bought a Dublin-based company called Valista. Both companies are involved in providing services for telcos. Aepona creates software services and solutions, and Valista provides payment and settlement services. Following the deal, Aepona claims it can now provide end-to-end “Network as a Service” (NaaS) services for telecoms operators.

Nokia today announced that it has signed a mobile email deal with Singapore operator M1. The push email service will allow M1 customers on 20 different Nokia handsets to receive email straight to their device from the most popular webmail clients.
