mHealth: US to launch international pregnancy aid in Indian, Bangladesh, South Africa
The phrase “mobile healthcare” often summons images of mobile apps that measure your sugar in-take, or can replace expensive hospital equipment with more cost-efficient mobile equivalents. But one of the most valuable mHealth avenues on mobile is simply using the devices to disseminate information to those who need it. And that is the basis of a new initiative announced by US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, being created by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and Johnson & Johnson (J&J), which is aimed at providing essential health information for new and expectant mothers.
