Yesterday was a glorious examples of how effective Apple’s marketing engine is. The hype reached fever pitch as Steve Jobs rock-starred his way onto stage. But much like the Nexus One, the backlash has already begun against the device. Is it justified? Let’s look at the pros and cons.

It’s a very nice machine, but price is essential. Now that information has been released, and the basic model will cost you $500 - with the bigger versions of the device costing you up to $830. Is that cheap enough?
