Rating: GoMo has cosy chat with Ramy Yared, adsmobi founder
GoMo finally caught up with Ramy Yared, co-founder and md with adsmobi – the mobile media buying platform in London’s Covent Garden. It was extremely interesting to chat about the current state of the mobile advertising market with him. Adsmobi – which is a 100 per cent owned subsidiary of Smaato – the leading mobile advertising network, is going great guns. But GoMo was intrigued to discover that as Ramy confessed, his company has yet to crack “the Holy Grail” of China – the world’s biggest mobile market. Crucially, that’s not to say that adsmobi has no presence in China – it’s that it presently deals with demand via Hong Kong or Singapore. By complete contrast – admobi has an excellent entre into the Indian market (another BRIC county). Continue reading

Mobile ad network Smaato specializes in ad optimization – if you feed them a creative, they’ll ensure it works perfectly on as many different devices as possible. And it’s all done automatically. This is a valuable proposition in the mobile market, where device fragmentation provides advertisers with a challenge they don’t have to face in, for example, TV advertising. And it seems that Singapore EDBI agrees, as they’ve lead the $7 million funding round that Smaato just closed.
Mix it up – use our blender!

Rating: Most consumers won’t notice its a native/web hybrid app
There are two good things about winning a prestigious international award like the Smaato Mobile Advertising Award Overall Winner 2010 according to Joachim Bader, md with Clanmo. His company scooped the Top Prize thanks to a mobile app which the mobile agency had created for airline, Lufthansa. The first really big benefit is the recognition which winning the prize brings – “Especially with the client [Lufthansa] itself,” Bader told GoMo News. The second big benefit is the free stand at next year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Bader was even quietly confident of winning the Smaato award next year. Continue reading
