Rating: Survey for tyntec shows strong potentilal for OTT services, too
A Pan-Atlantic survey carried out for mobile interaction specialist, tyntec, has found that UK youngsters embrace mobile social networking more than US counterparts. The survey -conducted by YouGov – reveals that 66 per cent percent of UK mobile users aged between 16-24 check Facebook and Twitter on the go daily, as opposed to just 37 per cent percent of Americans. The poll of 2,000 UK/US smartphone users show the so-called ‘millenial’ demographic in the UK is more advanced when it comes to using emerging cloud-based mobile services. Continue reading
A need for speed is key for mobile web surfers
Rating: Compuware’s survey reveals the mobile web is disappointment
An independent survey of more than 4,000 global users worldwide (including 500 from the UK) has been carried out by Compuware to understand consumers’ mobile web and application expectations and experiences. Entitled simply ‘What Users Want from Mobile’, the study reveals that global mobile users’ expectations are not being met. David Flower, a vp with Compuware, commented, “User expectations for mobile continues to increase, but companies in the UK are not meeting mobile users’ need for fast and reliable experiences. As a result, many companies are failing to take advantage of the opportunities being provided by increased mobile access,” he warned. Security fears are the biggest thing holding mobile payments back
Canadian mobile company Mobio has released a study into mobile payments – 1,085 people from “the general North American population” responded, and gave the impression that the most important factor holding mobile payments back was security. Continue reading

New research claims that retailers have fallen behind their consumers when it comes to mobile commerce.
