tescomobileIt has been all the rage to offer actual iPhone units to consumers for free, as long as they are paying a high enough monthly rate. Those that buy generous monthly quantities of texts, minutes and data can expect to walk out of the shop without paying an initial lump sum for the iPhone itself. Tesco Mobile is following along that proven path, and is claiming to have the lowest monthly payments available - 20 quid. But is it really all that great a deal?

tesco Tesco is releasing an API to give mobile developers access to its back catalogues. And not just grocery catalogues, but information on customer preferences and purchase history, extended information on goods and products, and even some “check-out” functions. The multi-national hopes to attract third-party developers to create user-friendly mobile applications.

Tesco today announced that customers can purchase laptops and mobile broadband as part of a bundle through its www.tescocontractmobilephones.com site. Tesco Mobile attracted 300,000 visitors in December and is now sending out media packs to offer advertising on the portal.

4th Screen Advertising served some adverts on portal during a trial earlier on and shock horror found 60% female usage! What a surprise!
Also click through rates of 3 to 7 percent.
