Talk to the hand unless you have USD 100 million in funding

First, Mike Butcher from TC UK twittered that SpinVox had USD 100 million in funding. The Rudy de Waele just twittered that Modu also got USD 100 million in funding - or they are both just about to get it.

Has the world gone mad?

These evaluations are based on speculation and even though I am a Modu fan - I thought we were about to hit a recession. Or are we already in a recession? Isn’t nearly every moble manufacturer worried about lower sales?

Also, SpinVox will never take on Nuance. Nuance has the edge and the cash and the technology. I am not sure what merits buckets and buckets of dollars - but something just doesn’t seem right.

I am going to do some digging here and if anyone has any ideas or comments please email me.

Well as a competitor to Spinvox we are THRILLED that they have received such a large amount of funding at such a high valuation. On the flip side we have so far taken in $5 million and we will be break-even well before we run out of that. Not a comparison to Spinvox directly as we are both building very different companies in the same industry, they are exponentially more aggressive then we are.

They do seem to want to take on Nuance and some other very large players and it is going to be fun to see what happens especially with this new infusion of cash.

Well we will continue as a company with 10 employees working to take on competitors infinitely larger then ourselves, so far it seems to be working,
