Telcordia gets its message across

Rating: Message in a bottle

In this day and age, getting your message across is extremely difficult. Most of us are overloaded with emails, voicemails, phone calls and even snail mail. So hats off to Telcordia for a novel approach. A message in a bottle.

Yes, Telcordia really did send me a tiny bottle with a message curled up inside it. Just to make the message even more irresistible, inside the tiny bottle was a fake min palm tree, plus some sand and shells.

What was the purpose of this missive? Actually it was a reminder to analysts and journalists that the company’s E6 conference was taking place next march [17th-19th] in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The event is billed as explaining how communications service providers can “successfully navigate the ever-changing communications tempest.”

I would have probably gone anyway, but this neat gimmick has ensured that the event is well and truly written into my diary.

I certainly came away with a great deal more insight into Telcordia after attending the company’s previous event – E5 – in San Francisco last November [20087].  See also … Oi Brazil’s got a clever mobile app.
