Telecom Italia Mobile launches mytones with Buongiorno

mytones rewards musical talent. It is a user generated mobile content service for TIM users interested in creating their own music.

Based in the Buongiorno B!3A platform users can create and upload their own music via wap.tim.it or www.mytones.it. Social networking will be encouraged with RATE IT services and rewards will be offered to creators of popular tunes.

Cost: from EUR 1 to EUR 2.50

What we think
This is just the type of service that young people need to start sticking to mobile operators. Music is key. Music is not making money for mobile operators yet – apart from ringtones. This needs to change and by offering user generated mobile content services such as these – music changes from a passive to an active mobile activity.
