Tenants’ app – an Update from Shelter

It’s iPhone, Jim

In response to my original story ‘ Mobile app to help tenants get their deposits back‘, GoMobile News received an update from Gordon MacRae, head of communications & policy with Shelter Scotland. He confirmed that the Housemate app is free to download thanks to the sponsorship of Orchard and Shipman. However, sadly at the moment it is only compatible with the Apple iPhone (IOS), so those who want to download and try it will therefore have to visit the iTunes App Store here.MacRae continues, “Whilst it is true to say that individual photos can be taken at present, it is not easy to attribute condition, multiple photos and export the whole thing into a document that can be agreed between both parties.”

“The [Housemate] app makes what is possible, simple.”

He added, “It also includes access to our mobile housing rights advice service so if anyone is uncertain as to their legally enforceable rights or if a landlord or letting agent is attempting to mislead, then a tenant has the proper information right their in their hand.”

So now you know.
