Rating: small and cosy but still edgy

I have to say I was a bit nervous about having a mixer in the US when we are European blog iwith huge UK readership and very niche on search and advertising. So we picked a small, nearby venue and anticipated 40 people.
We had 100 people sign-up but on the night 60 people walked through; 40 stayed a few hours and they were all CEO’s or Founders; VP’s or Presidents. Of course all from mobile search and advertising.
I will do a huge blog thank-you back in the UK with everyone’s name and company.
I will say the company name because a few people turned up to pitch to us! Of course we let them in and they gave us pitches on blogging, video, advertising and search. It was nice but strange.
Then I am also sure two hookers worked their way in well – but I wasn’t going to fight with them and the men (I think we had a huge male turnout) were all also happy.
Ariela Freed from JumpTap turned up at the end of the night having spent the night looking for me at another party. That was funny. But we had a good chat at the end of night anyway. Off the top of my head we covered two branded search companies and four white label at the event. Other new media companies from Vringo to GyPSii, Zeetoo and Sony Video were there too. But more on that when I am back at home. Our friend blogger mobile jones podcasted me and CEO of Medio Michael Luni Libes during the event and I drank brandy with MCN’s Michael Crane and Tequila with the Wapple girls.
So our first blender was great – the next one might be in HongKong in December and then 3GSM in Barcelona (but we have a sponsor for that one already). London is on the plan and hopefully Annie (not me) will host that one.
I must thank Mustard PR and especially Andrew Durkin for organising and hosting the event – they are our GoMo News PR agency and are doing a great job for us.
