TIM: Telecom Italia Mobile Gioca e vinci!

Rating: Ciao Goal!

Now, we don’t write about mobile games too often but when latino Simon sat next to me at the airport brandishing a polished Italian designer mobile phone, manicured nails, tan, black greasy hair and those green green eyes… the woman in me forced myself to talk to him. Believe me I really do prefer, not so hot skinny blonde guys; but Simon has a big fat mobile phone that must have attracted me to him.

Moving swiftly on…

Simon is 30 years old; can’t live without his device and has a TIM mobile phone. He was playing some kind of game when I met him and I asked in my best Italian what it was.

Apparently this is the latest game service from TIM. It’s a mobile game that allows users to win “real” play station games and he was trying to win PS3 Crime Scene investigation. The service is called GIOCA E VINCI and it is in inclusive with a Maxxi Internet subscription.

The TIM internet costs EUR 1 for 24 hours or EUR 0.04 per kb. There are also other special offers from EUR 5 per month (inclusive 100 MB) but his tariff is EUR 3 per month for 20 MB data transfer.

Then I asked him to take a look around the mobile portal. Now if you haven’t seen it I recommend everyone has a look at the TIM home page for style reasons. Its very nifty.

The run by Google and is sectioned into blocks of navigation. At the top you see Google and YouTube but no search box. But there are a list of buttons that direct users to a number of top sites in one click. I can’t remember all of them but Zed was one of them.

Anyway. I tend not to play mobile games but these Giochi games sort of popped out at you and instant win was a bit lottery – but it worked as an incentive for this bloke at least.
