Tino – an ultra-fast and cheap path to mobile apps saysGolden Gekko
Rating: Just add water and stir for a £100 iPhone app?
An online service, Tino, which can create mobile apps in a matter of hours has been introduced by mobile specialist, Golden Gekko (GG). The company claims that apps can be created for as little as £100 that will run on “90 per cent of the global mobile handset market.” An impressive claim.
The company maintains that customers will need to take only five easy steps to create a mobile application for £100 which, it estimates, would normally cost in the region of £5,000-£10,000.
Golden Gekko’s CEO, Magnus Jern, claims, “We are offering Tino as a low cost entry to the mobile app marketplace, and can provide anyone with the tools to build a mobile app, with a process that takes less than an hour.”
Actually, GG says elsewhere that the process can take as little as 30 minutes. The result should be “an attractive, powerful mobile application built using any content, external feeds, and rich media.”
Significantly, GG claims its tools will work across more than 3,000 different mobile devices including Java, Blackberry, iPhone, Symbian, Windows Mobile, Android, Palm Treo, JIL and Linux handsets.
To back its claims, GG maintains it has served mobile content on billions of phones worldwide and developing content for 40 leading global brands.
Indeed, GG argues that Tino customers don’t need to be technical experts because they’ll get an easy step-by-step guide that allows them to self-develop a mobile app on the web.
So that’s an iPhone or Android app for £100? Tino should get a considerable number of takers if that is really true.

Nice idea but just to be clear prices start at E1000 for a single application. As little as E100? You’d have to create 60 apps a month to get that price.
