It’s a small world in mobile. Anyone remember Joel Brazil? He was at Microsoft for years and then he left at the tail end of last year? You know, the UK online services boss?

Well, we thought he had gone to be a consultant but no.. he is the new founder of Tipped.co.uk and Tipped.mobi.

What is it?

Totally free of charge, Tipped enables users to discover new, interesting places and reliable businesses and services, quickly and easily and then find out more from people who have actually tried them. Its special filter system means listings can be searched or browsed via location, category, type, name and/or tag.

Tipped is a social network with a purpose. It enables users to tap into the recommendations of their network to help make better decisions about local businesses, to keep up to date with their friends’ tips and access their favourites at home or on move with Tipped Mobile.

Other exciting Tipped features enable you to:

– View friends’ up-to-the-minute tips with Tip Stream

– Send a venue to a mobile – complete with map

– Quickly identify places which have been reviewed by friends or friends of friend

– See who’s tipping the most and what they are reviewing in “Top Tippers”
