Peek pre-roll video advertising is the new service from Transpera.
What?
Basically its an advertising solution that enables brands to trigger adverts on mobile video.
From the press release
“Peek” pre-rolls are 5-10 second mobile video ads, targeted based on content usage and demographics, and inserted server side in real-time to ensure rapid delivery with no lengthy rebuffering. With both a mobile video content delivery platform and an advertising platform, Transpera’s system provides superior targeting and user experiences in the mobile video market.
“Mobile audiences are consuming content in ‘bites’ commensurate with the time they have, thus in order to get in front of them your messages need to be very short and targeted,” said Linda Barrabee, Program Manager for Mobile Research at Yankee Group. “If a consumer sees an ad that is entertaining they are much more likely to be engaged — but not for long.”
What we think?
Advertising is in its infancy and so far having tested all the major mobile advertising solutions as part of a new Mobile SEO workshop we are providing and the Mobile 2.0 Analyst I am stunned at how many don’t work.
Advertising is in its infancy and so is video. Two wrongs don’t make a right but two services in infancy – on mobile don’t sound great either.
