TravellingWave bundles VoicePredict Speech-to-Text with ZiCorp’s eZiText and eZiType
This is great news for multi modal mobile voice company TravellingWave! I met them about a year ago and had a great demonstration (nothing worked) but the vision and feel and outline of a new experience was there.
One year on they are integrated into ZiCorp a small business taking on Nuance and making a better job of multi-modal services than Nuance at the moment too.
What is the TravellingWave service?
Basically you type and speak or use the display of the phone all in one go. So you can start typing but use voice to finish the word.
From the press release:
“The combination of Zi’s eZiText and eZiType text-prediction and TravellingWave’s predictive speech-to-text technology, will enable VoicePredict to deliver greater value for texting and also open up new avenues for our customers with respect to mobile messaging, search, discovery, and mobile advertisement,” said Ashwin Rao, founder and CEO of TravellingWave. “The agreement further validates our technology leadership in the multimodal space.”
Milos Djokovic, President and CEO of Zi Corporation, said “We are extremely excited to work with TravellingWave on the cutting edge of voice input innovation to offer new usability solutions to our mutual customers”.
What we think?
This is great for both companies. I really liked Ashwin Rao when I met him and I did give him a really hard time in the interview. One year on this is proof of concept.
