Well shiver me timbers, Trond Bugge must be a Viking as his case study on superlocal.com location based advertising was one of the best during the mobile advertising and marketing conference in London.

Why did Trond hit me on the head with a baton?

Well, this man is the only one that I know of that is actually making money from mobile social networking. He has launched a white label platform called myquoran.mobi. This was done as a white label contract under the company Superlocal.com.

The difference with this site is one that you pay to use. Basically you buy your own home link and album (10% of users do this) and you can add features such as a guest book.

So basically it is the online business model working on mobile.

You can promote business and pay to send messages or sms within the network. There are 1.8 billion hits on the mobi site and superlocal.com is also reporting and average ARPU for social network suers of about 1.1 Euro a month.

What we think?
Well that is it isn’t it. If you make something niche and simple enough users will pay for it. I fear that Facebook might already be getting to big and opportunities do remain for users that offer (for want of a better word) Cult services.
