If Twitter is still the shiniest new social network on the market when Christmas rolls around once more, then mobile manufacturer INQ plans on cashing in. Following on from it’s Facebook phone last year, INQ is releasing a mobile specifically designed to integrate with Twitter.
Last November, INQ announced the launch of the INQ¹ which had Facebook at the core of it’s design, along with other messaging services like Skype and Windows Live Messenger. Twitter is the current flavour of the month, so it’s the next target for the Social Mobile.
INQ is a subsidiary of Hutchinson-Whampoa, which also owns mobile operator 3.

From the article:
Frank Meehan, chief executive of INQ said “This can really help open up and drive Twitter use on mobile when usage becomes part of your data package like on the PC”
“INQ Mobile was the first to offer an affordable handset that appeals to the connected generation that wants instant access to web services such as Facebook and Skype,” said Ben Wood, research director at consultancy CCS Insight. “Other manufacturers are also jumping on the social mobile bandwagon and INQ Mobile needs to exploit its agility to stay one step ahead as it looks to ink deals with more operators.”
What we think?
The first INQ phone didn’t exactly rock the market, but it was nice for Facebook enthusiasts. That’s the problem with a phone like this – it’s SO specific. Only hardcore Twitters will even look at this phone… and hardcore Twitter enthusiasts are probably fairly techy, so they’ll want more from their device than just a Twitter client.
